What is FineBush?

FineBush is a premium sparkling tea crafted from South African fynbos botanicals - namely rooibos and honeybush - brewed to perfection to draw out their full character and antioxidant richness. The teas are then layered with floral and fruit notes to create an indulgent, multi-dimensional sensory experience. Both rooibos and honeybush are naturally sweet-tasting on their own; any additional touch of sweetness comes only from real fruit concentrates or honey - never from added sugars, artificial flavours, or artificial sweeteners. A fine, lively carbonation lifts the aromatics and adds a fresh, indulgent sparkle on the palate, making FineBush a refined, sophisticated alternative to sodas, sugary RTD teas, and sparkling wines.

What are rooibos and honeybush?

Both are caffeine-free herbal infusions native to the fynbos biome at the southern tip of South Africa - one of the world’s smallest yet most botanically diverse plant kingdoms, and a UNESCO World Heritage region. Rooibos (Aspalathus linearis), meaning “red bush” in Afrikaans, grows almost exclusively in the Cederberg mountains north of Cape Town, and brews into a deep amber cup with a smooth, woody, lightly sweet, gently nutty character. Honeybush (Cyclopia spp.) grows along the Cape’s coastal mountains and takes its name from its bright yellow, honey-scented flowers; the infusion carries that same warm, floral, naturally honeyed aroma into the cup. Both have been enjoyed for centuries by indigenous Khoi and San communities for their refreshing taste and traditional wellness uses, and today they are prized worldwide for being caffeine-free, low in tannins, and rich in unique antioxidants found nowhere else in nature.

Does FineBush contain caffeine?

No. Rooibos and honeybush are naturally caffeine-free, so FineBush can be enjoyed any time of day, by anyone.

How does it taste?

Honeybush brings a naturally sweet, honey-like aroma with warm floral and lightly fruity notes - smooth and rounded, without bitterness. Rooibos has a woody, nutty character with gentle caramel undertones and almost no astringency. In FineBush, they’re finished with a fine, dry sparkle - closer to a sparkling wine than a soda.

Is it healthier than a regular soft drink?

Yes, on several fronts. FineBush is low in sugar and free from the high sugar load and artificial additives typical of sodas. It’s naturally rich in polyphenol antioxidants such as aspalathin from rooibos and mangiferin from honeybush. Unlike black or green tea-based RTDs, rooibos and honeybush are naturally caffeine-free, so there’s no jitters, no sleep disruption, and it’s suitable any time of day and for persons of any age. They also contain no oxalic acid and very low tannins, meaning they don’t interfere with the absorption of minerals like iron and calcium the way many other teas can. The result is a sparkling drink that refreshes like a soda and feels as genuinely considered - without the sugar spike, the caffeine, or the mineral trade-offs.

Is it safe to drink during pregnancy?

Rooibos and honeybush are both widely considered safe in moderation during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Both are naturally caffeine-free, so there’s no concern about caffeine crossing the placenta or passing into breast milk, and no risk of caffeine-related sleep disruption or elevated heart rate for mother or baby. They are also very low in tannins, which means they don’t interfere with the absorption of iron and other minerals that are especially important during pregnancy. Neither plant contains oxalic acid, and unlike some herbal infusions (such as licorice or black cohosh), rooibos and honeybush are not associated with hormonal or uterine effects of concern in pregnancy. FineBush is non-alcoholic and lightly carbonated, with low sugar and no artificial additives, making it a considered alternative to sodas, caffeinated RTD teas, or sparkling wine during pregnancy. That said, formal clinical studies in pregnant women are limited, so we always recommend checking with your doctor or midwife before adding any herbal beverage to your routine - particularly if you plan to drink it daily or in large quantities.
